Well, here we are at The End of another year on the calendar and another year of our lives.
And, we’re also at The Beginning of another year on the calendar and another year of our lives.
No matter what your year was like – remember – it was blessed and nothing entered your life that God was not aware of. Maybe you don’t like some of the things that have happened.
Maybe you don’t understand them. Maybe you had one of the best years of your life. Maybe you haven’t even thought about trying to understand all the blessings you’ve received, where they came from and what to do with them. Maybe whether your year was good or bad you’ve just taken it all for granted. Life is what it is and then it’s over. But is it? Each day you live gives you an opportunity to do something that will impact the world in one way or another. Jesus’ encouragement to us is to try to make the world a more positive place for us to live in.
Some people are writing resolutions, others are still trying to make a grand splash of some kind before the end of the year.
I’ve been collaborating with some people on a project that is for next year and it had to be done before the end of this year. I so wanted to say – it’s good enough – but I knew I couldn’t and then, right at the end – came a perfect ending for this part of the project and it has opened up a new excitement in my heart and soul and mind for the continuance of the project.
I thank God for people who are as committed and sometimes more so, than you are. It’s good to have a team of some kind to help with these things and it’s a joy to grow together in and with the Lord. Teams like this can give a little spark to keep you going and there is more to this project that I’m working on but this part had to be done now.
I have six months to finish the rest of the project but I really don’t want to take that long – I think I need to change the date of my own deadline.
Deadline – not sure I appreciate that term this year. I actually experienced something near death but Thank God, with prayer, discernment and help, made it through alive.
Goal date – I think that’s the term I’m going to start using – it’s actually a much more positive sounding term.
The Goal Date for my project is not six months from now – I’m changing it to 3 months from now. I have to give this a good push so every piece is ready in no more than 6 months.
Whew!
So much for spending hours on end blogging – you’ll hear from me every now and then – but I will be more stressed if I don’t stick to the project than if I do stick with it. It’s all about Jesus and it’s for you, just like he is.
So, He who is The End and The Beginning is here always! In fact, in Him there is no beginning or end; because in Him, life unfurls eternally, beautifully and mysteriously!
Praying you all have a mysterious, beautiful year that is covered and filled with eternal love!
Wishing you a Happy Year End and Beginning!
Let us pray:
Lord, I commit the past year into your hands. I thank you for all the blessings I have received and seek forgiveness for the things that I have left undone, for unkind words and thoughts spoken in the heat of a moment. Thank you for promising forgiveness and the peace that I can experience in receiving your forgiveness and the inheritance of peace you alone can give. Lead me into the next moments, days, weeks, months of the new year with your strength and love. Please fill me with your Holy Spirit so I may glorify you in the work I do and the life I live. AMEN
