So often people think or feel there is nothing they can do to help someone who is suffering through addiction or withdrawal. But there is something almost everyone can do and that is pray for increased faith in those who want to help themselves and others to help. Yesterday I read a poet’s blog post titled 3 Days Without about Heroin Addiction. This is something I am learning well. I have received positive and negative feedback from having published this book. Some people who know me think that I’m being a little ‘self-righteous’ in publishing this book. I never really understand people who think this about me because I know I am not perfect and am in need of the Lord’s strength, grace, love, forgiveness and power – I know I’m a sinner in need of the Lord. My Parish Priest carried over All Saints Day to this Sunday so he could ask us some questions and talk to us in practicalities about saints and their lives. While he didn’t ask if they had they stress free lives he did ask us if they were all perfect. And of course we said no.
So why do so many Christians try to pretend they have perfect…..
